After a 7-year hiatus, Cardi B officially made her comeback with her second studio album: ‘Am I The Drama?’, a 23-song album that dives into her messy marriage, vulnerability and hip hop beef.
The album, which was dropped on Friday, September 19th, features various artists including Cash Cobain, Selena Gomez, Kehlani, Lizzo, Lourdiz, Janet Jackson, Tyla, and Megan Thee Stallion.
Cardi pours her heart out and gets vulnerable about her marriage to rapper Offset. In ‘Man of Your Word’, the ninth song in the album, Cardi talks about how she should have left Offset, and instead she went back to him and gave him a son. Cardi also owns up to her mistakes, stating that she put her music first, ‘As a wife, I should’ve realized when you were hurt, but instead I put my music first.’ The couple has faced multiple challenges due to infidelity on the Migos rapper’s part.

Cardi, who is currently going through a divorce from Offset, also opened up about life after walking away from her husband, adding that she has been stuck in the marriage for too long and is now going ‘outside.’
Cardi is now pregnant with her current boyfriend’s child, NFL athlete Stefon Diggs.Cardi also addresses long-standing beefs, including diss tracks aimed at JT and Bia. Feuds that her fans assumed she had buried. Cardi, however, reminds her listeners that she responds at her own time.
In the track ‘Pretty & Petty’ Cardi starts off by challenging listeners to name five Bia songs. In an interview with the Breakfast Club, Cardi was asked why she had chosen to address the beef with Bia almost a year after Bia’s diss track. The now pregnant rapper responded that she could not let it go because her children, Wave and Kulture, were brought into the drama: ‘Talking about Kulture you wildin.’

The rapper also went in on City Girls rapper JT, in the song ‘Magnet’, calling her a fake friend and adding that she shares bags with her boyfriend Lil Uzi Vert, who has been questioned multiple times for his gender identity. These lyrics have caused a massive stir on social media among fans. JT has since responded to Cardi in a now-deleted X post while Bia has remained silent and turned off her Instagram comments.
‘Am I the Drama?’ has since claimed multiple top ten spots on Apple Music’s Top 100 global chart. From past mistakes, asserting her independence, or keeping her haters in check, Cardi B emerges as both the heart and the heat of hip hop.
