The spat between Kenya and Uganda continues to reverberate days after Uganda President Yoweri Museveni threatened Kenya of future wars over uninhibited access to the Indian Ocean.

Kenyan elder, and former aid to the late President Moi, Mr. Lee Njiru sat down for an extensive interview about this issue.

Key takeaways –

  • Why does African countries have the militaries? To fight who?
  • The East African countries under the East African Community (EAC) once shared a common currency, airlines, harbors, and railways – “but because of selfishness, and big man syndrome”, all that collapsed.
  • He questioned if Africans valued themselves, as the others, noting Americans, Jews, and Whites, meaning Caucasian with a couple of examples he witnessed.
  • Mr. Lee Njiru angered, emphasized, and wanted to escalate the continued divisions of Africa as a hindrance to unity, and progress.
  • The military industrial machinery in the West is salivating to see war between Kenya, and Uganda because the sale of military assets will enrich the companies, raise the companies’ stocks as both countries kill each others citizens, destroy infrastructure, and enshrine poverty in the process.
  • He questioned the continued madness of having 55 African ambassadors in Washington DC, whereas China has 1, why has India have 1 representative in London, while Africa had 55? He noted both China, and India have just about the same population as Africa’s 1.5 billion people.“They should remove these borders, they mean nothing” – Lee Njiru.
