The two biggest names in female rap, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, are back at it again, taking their feud toe X (formerly Twitter) once again. Sending fans into a frenzy as they traded insults, continuing a rivalry that has spanned years.
The feud began after Nicki posted a release date for her next album, just days after Cardi B released her sophomore album ‘Am I The Drama?’, which has since debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 200,000 units in combined streams and sales.
Minaj soon after began reposting multiple posts by fans who compared the numbers to Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday 2’ album and made it clear that Nicki remains undefeated as she sold a higher number of units back in December 2023.
In now-deleted posts, Minaj accused Cardi of selling her album at a discounted price, claims that quickly caught Cardi’s attention and sparked a back-and-forth. What began as chart comparisons soon turned deeply personal, crossing the line as both women dragged each other’s children into the feud.
Cardi accused Minaj of drug use during pregnancy, targeting Nicki’s son with a scathing post: “Papa Bear I’m sorry you can’t speak and banging spoons because your mom couldn’t put the drugs down… I’m sorry your mom not even paying attention to you on your own birthday cuz she such a obsessed and dark spirited hating ho.
”Nicki quickly hit back at the ‘Pretty and Petty’ rapper by cruelly calling her first daughter a vulture.
Other celebrities who have been mentioned in the feud include Jay-Z, who Nicki has been attacking over his former company TIDAL. The ‘Super Bass’ singer claimed that she had a 3% stake in the music company; however, she only got a $ 1 million cut when Hov sold the company for $302 million in 2021. Nicki posted an AI-generated photo of the rap legend in a pink bob cut wig.
Cardi and Minaj have been at loggerheads since 2017 after Cardi B released her hit song ‘Bodak Yellow.’ The two have continued to exchange words online and even almost got into a physical altercation back in 2018 at a New York Fashion Week party, where Cardi allegedly threw a shoe as Nicki and missed. Cardi was spotted leaving the event with a knot on her head.
