James Howard Jackson, the man who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker and stole one of her dogs, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to his charges on Monday.
Gaga’s dog walker Ryan Fischer was walking her three French bulldogs last year in Sunset Boulevard, when he was met with an unexpected surprise as Jackson shot him in the chest and ‘dognapped’ two of the dogs.
Fischer revealed that the shooting changed his life forever as he was hospitalized and had to have part of his lung removed as it was damaged.
“You shot me and left me to die, and both of our lives have changed forever, I do forgive you. With the attack, you completely altered my life. I know I can’t completely move on from the night you shot me until I said those words to you,” said Fischer.

Jackson was charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and assault with a semi-automatic firearm. However, he was with two other people; Jaylin White and Lafayette Whaley when they nabbed the dogs.
Police revealed that the connection of the robbery and Lady Gaga was pure coincidence, as Jackson and his accomplices were searching for bulldogs to steal on the fateful day of the incident.
The three were walking around Hollywood, when they spotted Fischer and the dogs. Jackson pulled the trigger and they made away with two of the dogs; Koji and Gustav, as the other dog, Miss Asia, managed to run away. The dog was later found by the police.
The dogs were returned to Gaga two days after the incident, after she put out a handsome cash reward of $500,000.
