Singer and songwriter Kevin McCall recently appeared on the ‘Back on Figgs’ podcast, where he broke down, revealing that he is on EBT (government assistance) despite the fact that Chris Brown allegedly owes him $25,000 for songs that he wrote for him.
Kevin McCall, once a rising force in R&B and hip hop, was closely tied to Chris Brown in the early 2010s. Their partnership contributed to several hits, but behind the scenes, unresolved business disputes, personal trauma, and alleged substance struggles would eventually tear their relationship apart.
However, McCall would later claim he never received proper compensation or publishing. He said their business relationship ran more on loyalty than contracts, which he now regrets.

Tension began to surface publicly around 2019–2020. McCall started calling out Chris Brown online, accusing him of blocking his royalties. As the situation escalated, McCall even made physical threats toward Brown. Chris initially ignored him, but after McCall brought Brown’s young daughter, Royalty, into the conversation, Brown responded coldly and permanently severed ties.
Over the years, McCall has displayed signs of instability through erratic livestreams and confrontational public incidents, including an arrest in a courthouse during a custody hearing. There have been long‑running rumors of substance abuse, especially involving cocaine and pills. Though McCall has not fully confirmed them. Even Chris Brown publicly alluded to McCall’s alleged drug use.

McCall pulled out his EBT card during the podcast interview, showing the world that it is what he relies on, and broke down, claiming that Chris did not pay him for the four songs that he wrote and collaborated on, and pointed out that Brown made over $90 million on his recently closed tour, Breezy Bowl.
“Why the f-worth I got an EBT card?” and “Can I get $25K for them four songs you owe me?” he said, directed toward Chris Brown.
Chris has since responded by posting an Instagram story, “Remember this: you can’t walk across a burnt bridge. And you know what’s funnier than a troll? A BROKE ONE.”

Rapper Young Thug has stepped into the situation, offering to give McCall the $25,000 and even went ahead and claimed that Brown would be more than happy to give it to him, too. However, hours later he posted on X that he has no plans of actually following through on his word.
